I hope that we live long enough to see a better day

I’ve been meaning to post about Graham Lindsey for a couple months now, and today is finally the day. He resides in that pleasant intersection where folk, country, and twang meet. But with an edge. To be honest, more than anything else, he makes me think of the Kingston Trio, though that’s more of a subjective feeling than because they’re that similar. A more reasonable comparison might be Hank Williams if he grew up listening to punk music.

His new album is Hell Under the Skullbones, and it’s quite good. It’s a record that makes you think of dusty Midwestern evenings and broken hearts. As has been the case for the last couple weeks, I’d like to write something a bit more expansive, but time-pressure is severely limiting my ability to spend more than 15 minutes a day on blogging. So give these songs a listen and hear for yourself:

And in the unlikely event that you live in the Netherlands, go out and see him on tour in November and December.
