You’re so silent that you’re gray

It was an exciting weekend for English imports. First, Harry Potter (which I think turned out to be the best book of the whole series, amazingly enough), then David Beckham. What’s next? Prince Harry and pasties for everyone? Anyways, today I want to talk about a less-hyped but no-less wonderful import, this time from Sweden.

I first wrote about Bedroom Eyes back in November, and then declared the incredible song Dancing Under the Influence to be one of my favorites of 2006. Well, Jonas Jonsson, the man behind the band, has been kind enough to make another EP available for free download. This one is called Valentine Vacancy, and while it doesn’t have a song quite as perfect as Dancing Under the Influence, it has more than enough sparkling, wistful, jangly pop to keep you satisfied.

It also lend further support to my belief that Bedroom Eyes might very well be the best of all the great, great artists coming out of Sweden these days. Check out this song to hear why:

(Here’s One for You) Underdog

And then head over to the Bedroom Eyes website to get the rest of the EP.
