There will be another Christmas post next week, but since I’m about 12 hours away from getting on a plane to Seattle (where it recently snowed, unleashing endless havoc) it seemed like an appropriate time to post this track.
Snowing In Seattle – Sherwood
It’s precisely what you’d hope for in a song about a snowy, Seattle Christmas: a clean slice of hook-laden power pop to keep your mind off of how badly everyone is going to be driving for the next week until the snow melts.
And while I’m in a festive mood, there’s also a very nice little album called A Very Balthrop Christmas. Most exciting for me is yet another fantastic track from Caithlin De Marrais (who will be featuring prominently in my upcoming year-end lists), but the whole record is very enjoyable. If you quickly grow sick of the standard holiday songs, this collection far more accurately reflects the quirky, communal, and multifaceted relationship that real people share over the winter months.
